Ring of Kerry
Dublin & Killarney

My favourite Dublin attractions were the Trinity College Library, Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Church and the Guinness Brewery. Killarney is in the same region as the famous ‘Ring of Kerry’ drive. We visited the Muckross House and Castle and stopped at the road pull-outs.

Hook Lighthouse
Hook Head Peninsula

Hook Head Peninsula is home to Europe’s oldest lighthouse which was certainly worth the visit, on the drive I’d also suggest that you stop at Tintern Abbey and Loftus Hall. Galway is a very modern city in Ireland, and was a nice place for a break and drive around but overall was a relaxing place to visit.

Cliffs of Moher
Minard Castle
Dingle Peninsula

During my trip, my father and I decided to rent a vehicle. This is something that I believe is necessary if you visit Ireland because the scenery is so stunning. The reason Dingle was my favourite area is that the Dingle Peninsula is a stunning coastal drive that you can take from the small town. Along the peninsula, we stopped at Minard Castle, Dunmore Head, Dunquin Pier, Clogher Strand, Brandon Creek and Kilmalkedar Church. This was one of the most beautiful drives I have ever been on and I highly recommend stopping at every single road pull out that you pass as well. This is also where they filmed certain parts of the new Star Wars films.

Blarney Estate
Doolin & Cork

Doolin is the home of the Cliffs of Moher, which is absolutely worth the drive; we spent the morning taking a boat tour along the cliffs and then spent the evening walking along the top. Cork was a quaint city with a rich history, we saw the Cork County Gaol and did a brewery tour at the Franciscan Well Brewery which had delicious beer, pizza and rich history. Blarney Castle is also near Cork and is a beautiful place to visit, there is an entire grounds there and is not limited to just a castle.

Guinness Storehouse, Dublin
Food

My favourite places across Ireland include

  • The Fish Box in Dingle (the absolute best fish and chips)
  • SOLE Seafood & Grill in Dublin (high-end seafood)
  • Klaw in Dublin (seafood)
