Best Things to Do & See
Many visitors stop in one of the central European cities to take a rest and don’t expect to love them, but I found this to be far from the truth. If you choose to visit central Europe, a lot of things are much cheaper including food, alcohol and accommodation. In Krakow, I ate so many perogies that a Polish grandmother would be proud, and the best place that I went to was the Gościnna Chata Restaurant. If you decide to visit Krakow a few places that you must visit include Shindler’s Factory, remnants of the ghetto wall, old Jewish District and the Royal Castle. During a visit to Poland, I also highly suggest you take a day to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau; though it is a very emotionally draining and sad experience it is very important to hear what happened in the concentration camps and why it was so significant. In Budapest, the Fisherman’s Bastion, Parliament Building, Hospital in the Rock and the House of Terror are all very interesting places to visit with some offering gorgeous views. Bratislava is known for its castle on the top of a hill and is a great place to spend the sunset, they also have a very interesting ‘Smurf Church’ which looks like a blue marshmallow exterior. In Prague, there is the oldest working clock and a lot of history about the 30 years war.
