London

Accommodations

I stayed in the ‘No. 8 Willesden Hostel’ in London, which was not the nicest hostel I’ve stayed in, but for ₤17.00 a night, it was good. The hostel was further outside of the city center, a 10-minute walk from the London tube and on top of a bar; however, it was clean enough for the three nights I needed. There are other reasonably priced options in London, but I highly suggest booking as early as possible so that you can get access to the largest amount of cheap options possible.

Must See & Do

London has the most varied and largest amount of free walking tours I have seen in any city. With so many companies to choose from, I will put my opinion for Strawberry Tours. I went on four of their free tours; London landmarks East and West, Harry Potter and the Jack the Ripper Tours. I cannot recommend this company enough, this is only a third of their total free walking tours and I will definitely go again the next time I visit London.

Of course, when visiting London, you have to see Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Abbey Road, Camden and so many more. There are a huge number of things to see in London, and you will have to decide what you can fit into your trip and what interests you the most. If you love book stores, you have to visit a cute little travel book store called ‘Daunt Books’, grab a book, and read for a while. There are also a number of free museums, the British Museum being one, for people to go and see some amazing artifacts.

Where to Eat

London is famous for its food, but my biggest concern was finding a delicious meal that wouldn’t break the bank. If you also want to eat for a good price there are some online articles that go in detail about affordable places to eat in London. Some of my favourite places included:

  • The English Rose Cafe (scones with tea and breakfast)
  • Fortnum and Mason (high tea)
  • Camden Market (lunch and dinner)
Westminster Abbey
Abbey Road
Halloumi Fries at Camden Market
